Lap Mops

Lap mops are a ideal for cleaning and preparing complex shapes such as engine castings.

Lap mops are made with discs of non-woven fleece abrasive, joined around the centre. This make for highly flexible wheels which will give gentle abrasive action on metal components, castings and wood. They are ideal for working complex shapes (such as engine castings) due to their flexibility. They will strip light coatings, clean, prepare surfaces and smooth surface roughness. The most popular grade is medium A (MA) which is a useful all-rounded for the workshop, leaving an approx 240 finish on stainless steel. Fine A (FA) and Very Fine A (VFA) grades are also available for finer finishes and softer non-ferrous metals. Coarse A is available in 150mm size. This gives a more aggressive action.

100mm size is small enough to be used on tapered spindles or mandrels on drills and hand-held power tools. 150mm size is better suited to bench polishers.
